Civil Excavator Operators

We are currently seeking experienced Civil Excavator Operators to join our team for ongoing work across a range of civil construction projects and client sites. These roles are suited to skilled operators who can deliver high-quality results across varied civil environments.

About the Role
You will be operating excavators on civil construction projects including subdivisions, infrastructure, and utilities. Work includes trenching, backfilling, bulk and detailed excavation, drainage installation, and final trim to levels. Projects are busy and require a strong understanding of civil construction standards and site safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Excavator operation across 5T–30T+ machines
• Trenching, backfilling, bulk earthworks, and detailed excavation
• Final trim work to line, level, and design tolerances
• Drainage works including pipe laying, bedding, and backfilling
• Working around live services and existing infrastructure
• Reading and interpreting plans, levels, and set-out information
• GPS machine control operation (highly regarded)
• Pre-start checks, basic maintenance, and safe machine operation
• Working collaboratively with supervisors, surveyors, and ground crews

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Civil Excavator Operator (essential)
• Strong experience in trenching, drainage, and final trim work
• Ability to work to line, level, and design drawings
• RII Nationally Accredited Tickets & Licences (preferred)
• White Card (Construction Induction)
• GPS machine control experience (strongly preferred)
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol (DNA) screening
• Strong commitment to safety, quality, and productivity
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work across multiple sites
